The Cher Group Contractors builds out retail spaces for shop owners, franchise tenants and shopping-center landlords across Palm Beach County and Broward. If you have signed a lease, or you are about to, we turn the space you rented into a store that is ready to open: walls, ceilings, lighting, power, restrooms, finishes and the permits that go with them. We are a Florida-licensed general contractor (CBC1265622) and we carry all insurance required by the State of Florida. For a price on your space, use the quote form on this page. Most retail spaces come to a tenant in one of two conditions. A shell space is bare: concrete floor, open ceiling, utilities stubbed in. A second-generation space was another business before you, and some of what is there may be usable. Either way, a retail build-out covers the same core work:
We coordinate with your landlord, your architect and our trades so you deal with one point of contact from the first walk-through to final inspection. See also our tenant improvements page.
We take retail work across both counties, including:
Each city and the county have their own permit office and inspection steps. We handle the permit and inspection process with the jurisdiction that covers your space, so you know where things stand as the job moves.
Shopping centers and mixed-use landlords usually have tenant criteria: approved drawings, insurance certificates naming the landlord, rules on deliveries, noise and storefront signage, and sign-off before you open. We work inside those rules. We submit what the landlord asks for, keep the property manager informed and schedule the work so the center and the neighboring tenants are not disrupted. Work is scheduled during regular working hours unless the landlord and the project call for something else.
Our commercial work is in restaurants and retail. Our team built and later remodeled the Texas de Brazil on PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, helped build the Texas de Brazil at Sawgrass Mills and remodeled Texas de Brazil in Hallandale. In Fort Lauderdale, we remodeled and built out BKK. Restaurant tenant spaces carry the same landlord rules, inspections and opening deadlines as retail units, plus kitchens, so the same team plans and runs your retail build-out. See all of our restaurant build-outs.
Many plazas mix shops and restaurants. If you are a landlord with both types of vacancies, or a tenant opening a café inside a retail concept, we handle both. Restaurant build-outs add kitchens, hoods, grease traps and health requirements; retail build-outs focus on the sales floor, lighting and storefront. Our design build option is there if you do not have drawings yet.
It is the construction that turns a leased shell or second-generation space into a finished store: walls, electrical, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, finishes and permits.
Yes. We take retail build-outs across Palm Beach County and Broward, including all four cities.
It depends on the size of the space, the scope and the permit timeline for your city. We give you a schedule after we walk the space and see the drawings.
Most retail build-outs need permit drawings. If you have them, we build to them. If you do not, ask about our design build option.
