How long does a restaurant or retail build-out take?
It depends on the size of the space, its current condition (shell or second-generation), the drawings, and how long permits take in your city. Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. The Cher Group Contractors handles the permit and inspection process with the city or county that has jurisdiction over your space, whether that is Boca Raton, West Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale, and coordinates with your architect and engineer on any comments from the building department.
What does my landlord need from my contractor?
Most landlords ask for a licensed general contractor, a certificate of insurance naming them as additional insured, and approved drawings before work starts. Many also have their own tenant construction rules. We work through your lease’s construction requirements with you and your landlord before we start.

Do you work on second-generation restaurant spaces?

When should I bring in a contractor?

Do you build commercial kitchens, hoods and grease traps?
Yes. Restaurant build-outs are our main focus. We build commercial kitchens, including hood and exhaust systems, grease traps, plumbing, gas and electrical for your equipment. Do you do retail store build-outs?
Yes. We build out retail stores from an empty shell or remodel an existing space. That covers framing, drywall, ceilings, lighting, flooring, storefront work, fitting rooms and checkout areas. What are tenant improvements, and do you do them?
Tenant improvements are the changes made to a commercial space so it fits a new tenant, like new walls, ceilings, lighting, restrooms and finishes. We handle tenant improvements for restaurants, retail stores and other commercial spaces. We can work with your landlord’s requirements and your lease terms so the space is built the way you need it.
